The families of the brave soldiers whose lives were taken during the disastrous Afghanistan pullout in 2021 were able to speak their minds and tell their stories Monday.

A special hearing held in Escondido, California, by Mayor Dane White and Republican Rep Darrell .Issa revealed how these families feel about the Biden administration’s response to their tragedies. Billed as the Afghanistan Gold Star Families Public Forum, friends and family testified of their disillusionment with the Biden administration.

One notable moment came from the mother of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover. She directly laid the blame on President Biden, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and others.

Hoover’s father held similar sentiments, calling on the Biden administration to resign.

Others went after Biden more specifically, with one mother calling him “heartless” and another mother saying that he “failed in the oath he took.”

Issa closed the hearing with the assertion that the Biden administration lied to the American public, and more importantly to these families. He reminded the crowd in attendance that this hearing “is not the end” of the stories of these brave soldiers.
