The world was shocked and confused when they heard that Russian President Vladimir Putin had met with Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin just days after his abandoned rebellion. But now some are calling the Kremlin’s bluff.
Retired Gen. Robert Abrams says he thinks the meeting was faked, and that Prigozhin’s fate was ultimately less than favorable. When asked if he thought Prigozhin was still alive, the general responded ,”I personally don’t think he is, and if he is, he’s in a prison somewhere.”
The Kremlin still claims that Putin had a peaceful discussion with Prigozhin and other Wagner commanders, and offered them further employment in the Russian military.
An audio message of Prigozhin was released last week, where he thanked those who supported the Wagner Group’s failed mutiny. But his current whereabouts remain unclear.
