A private philanthropic group is donating millions to Christian organizations to pass faith onto the next generation.

Through its Christian Parenting and Caregiving Initiative, the Lilly Endowment announced earlier that month that it had approved 77 grants of up to $1.25 million. The endowment is giving away more $92 million to develop programs aimed at helping parents pass their faith onto their kids.

According to the Christian Post, those “receiving donations include a variety of denominations, Christian colleges, local congregations and regional districts of national church groups.”

Lilly Endowment Vice President for Religion Christopher L. Coble hopes the donations will “strengthen ministries that reach and support families and help interested parents and caregivers more confidently nurture the faith of their children.”
