The walls could be closing in on Merick Garland. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) told Fox News that House Republicans might move to impeach the attorney general soon. He says mounting evidence suggests Garland interfered in the Hunter Biden tax probe to protect the president’s son.

Hunter pleaded guilty last month to two charges of failing to pay millions in taxes. He also agreed to enter a diversion program to avoid a gun charge in what Republicans called a “sweetheart deal.”

Garland denies interference, saying he gave full authority to Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was overseeing the case. But Jordan says whistleblower testimony and conflicting statements from Weiss suggest otherwise. Garland will testify before the House Judiciary Committee in September.
