The recent mass exodus from Democrat-run states has caused a major shake up in the U.S. economy.
According to a new Bloomberg report, the six fastest growing states in the South are now contributing more to the GDP than the Northeast, which has been America’s historic economic powerhouse. Those states include Florida, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.
The mass move southward began during the peak of the COVID-19 lockdowns and it’s showing no signs of reversing. The population change shifted $100 billion to the Southern economy between 2020 and 2021 alone.
On the flipside, the Northeast lost $60 billion during the same time period. Meanwhile, the Census Bureau reported back in May that nine of the 15 fastest growing cities are in the South, six in Texas and three in Florida.
