More than 80 people are dead or injured after three different horrific events around the globe.

A gas canister exploded Thursday in a Chinese barbecue restaurant ahead of a holiday weekend. Thirty-one people were killed and seven others injured. President Xi Jinping called for a thorough investigation, which resulted in the arrest of the owner and eight others.

Another explosion – this time in Paris – set a popular design school ablaze. Authorities say four people were left in critical condition and more than 30 others injured. While some suggest a gas line caused the explosion, a police spokesperson said it was too early to determine the source.

And in a horrific act of gang violence, 46 women were murdered at a Honduran prison on Tuesday. The attack was carried out by incarcerated Barrio 18 members, who used banned guns and machetes in an attack against rival gang members.
