Republicans are fuming over Hunter Biden’s plea deal. Tuesday, it was announced that Hunter will avoid jail time after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and one felony gun possession charge. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said it’s the latest example of a two-tier justice system.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) agreed, calling it a “sweetheart deal,” but said it might end up being a good thing for the ongoing House Oversight investigation into alleged Biden Family corruption.
President Joe Biden has refrained from commenting on the latest update to his son’s legal problems, apart from saying “I’m very proud of my son.”
This comes as Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee are preparing to publicly release evidence provided by an IRS whistleblower, alleging corruption in the Hunter Biden tax case.
