Could AI start a new religion? According to a World Economic Forum affiliated speaker, it’s a real possibility.

In a recently published interview with journalist Pedro Pinto, public intellectual Yuval Harari said AI is the first technology that can come up with new ideas – which could change religion.

Harari – who is a noted atheist – said AI could start a new religion that is “actually correct” in terms of coming from a superhuman intelligence.

Harari is a frequent guest speaker with the World Economic Forum, which is notable for its progressive policy proposals, including the so-called “Great Reset” of capitalism.

His comments come as just last week hundreds of people attended a church service in Bavaria for a sermon largely written and preached by AI.
