FBI Director Chris Wray is back in hot water for still refusing to hand over a subpoenaed document about an alleged foreign bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden.

House Oversight chair James Comer (R-Ky.) is moving forward with contempt charges against Wray.

After being made aware of the by a whistleblower, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee demanded the FBI turn it over. But the bureau refused, saying it contains unverified claims from a confidential source and is part of an ongoing investigation.

Instead, the FBI offered to let lawmakers view the document under FBI supervision but would not release it to the committee.

The contempt charges have the backing of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
