A Republican governor signed a bill this week requiring insurance companies to cover transgender treatments.
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo signed the bill into law on Monday. Under the law, insurance companies must cover “medically necessary treatment of conditions relating to gender dysphoria and gender incongruence.”
Insurance providers have to cover minors so long as they meet certain requirements like a psychologist’s recommendation.
Gov. Lombardo defended the law Tuesday.
