Conflicting statements on the pandemic’s origins means there’s a battle ahead if Americans are going to get a straight answer about where COVID-19 came from.

U.S. lawmakers passed a law in March demanding that all information on the virus and Chinese Wuhan lab activities be declassified.

In response, the Intelligence Community, released a report last week. But this document only summarizes the evidence and the pandemic’s origins seem inconclusive.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner says that the report is insufficient. He also says the President received intelligence contradicting the report.

Turner promised that Congress would make sure the declassification law is followed.
