The Covenant school shooter manifesto may be buried for all-time after lawyers announced that rights will go to the families of the victims.
The manifesto has been in police custody since March 27, when transgender shooter Audrey Hale killed three children and three adults at the Nashville school.
In early May, five different groups petitioned a judge to release her manifesto. This includes the National Police Association and State Sen. Todd Gardenhire. But now, the parents of Hale say they will transfer ownership of that manifesto to the families of the victims.
Their attorney, David Raybin, announced the decision during a court hearing yesterday.
The transfer should be complete by the end of the week. The parents of the victims want to keep the writings from the public. Their attorney says they are concerned it will lead to another school shooting.
