A California man became a hero when he stopped a bank robbery with a simple act of kindness.

Michael Armus Sr., recently went into his local bank where he’s normally greeted with jokes and smiles. But this time, everybody was serious. Another man, Eduardo Placensia, was robbing the place.

Now, Armus knew the would-be robber as a friend of his daughter and a former neighbor. He noticed Placensia was threatening the bank staff, but he also noticed something else that sparked compassion.

Armus still feels compassion for Placencia and is thinking of visiting him in jail.
