Here’s something you don’t hear everyday – A whale accused of being a Russian spy has resurfaced for the first time in several years.
A thirteen year old Beluga whale named Hvaldimir was seen in Oslo, Norway earlier this week.
The whale was first found by Norwegian fishermen in 2019, and was found wearing a harness meant to hold a camera. According to local reports, the harness was from St Petersburg, Russia and the whale responded to Russian training commands.
This led experts to believe that the whale may have been trained by the Russian military.
Experts believe that he has followed fishing boats and stayed close to humans due to a lack of socialization with other whales, and he may be having a hard time feeding himself.
