The woman who recently won a defamation lawsuit against former President Trump now wants another $5 million.
E. Jean Caroll won her sexual assault and defamation case just a few weeks ago. She was awarded $5 million for damages. But now she wants that amount doubled after Trump’s recent public comments on the case.
Trump’s legal team is appealing the verdict.
In addition, Trump referred to the woman as a “whack job” and called her allegations “fake.”
Caroll’s lawyers say the former president doubled down on the same derogatory comments he was just convicted of. Quote: “It is hard to imagine defamatory conduct that could possibly be more motivated by hatred, ill will, or spite.”
She is asking the judge to consider the public comments as grounds for greater financial compensation.
