As if groups of wild and violent teenagers wreaking havoc across the country wasn’t troubling enough, some local Democratic politicians are defending the people committing the crime sprees.

After what was described as a violent “teen takeover” in downtown Chicago this weekend, when three teens were shot as hundreds of other teenagers clashed with police, Democratic Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson urged the public not to “demonize” the massive mob who trashed private property and set cars on fire.

“In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city,” Johnson wrote in a statement.

However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities. Our city must work together to create spaces for youth to gather safely and responsibly, under adult guidance and supervision, to ensure that every part of our city remains welcome for both residents and visitors. This is one aspect of my comprehensive approach to improve public safety and make Chicago livable for everyone.

On social media, many were disgusted by Johnson’s statement including investor Collin Rugg who co-owns conservative news outlet “Trending Politics.” He shared this highly disturbing video of a white woman being beaten on her doorstep by the unruly mob of teens who appeared to be all black.

The Twitter account “End Wokeness” which has nearly 1 million followers tweeted: “If a mob of white men attacked and beat a black woman on camera, it would be the biggest story of the year That happened 2 nights ago in Chicago with the races reversed Not a single outlet is covering it.”

Republican Illinois Congressman Darin LaHood was also quick to condemn what happened this weekend in his state as well as the Democratic leadership he holds responsible. He tweeted, “What an embarrassment to Chicago and the State of Illinois. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, yet the elected Democrat leaders of Chicago continue to let it happen. It’s past time these leaders listen to law enforcement and put an end to this violence!”

CALIFORNIA TAKEOVER

Further west in the most liberal state in the U.S., a video was recorded of another mob of young people, this time breaking into a gas station Sunday morning in Compton, California. Police say they grabbed anything they could and stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise after blocking an intersection as part of their street takeover.

“It’s unbelievable, unreal. I’ve never seen anything like that happen here,” said Compton resident Greg Johnson who is also a customer of the gas station that was looted.

According to ABC7, deputies at the Compton station were responding to incidents throughout the night, but because they are “currently limited with their staffed personnel,” they couldn’t intervene with the giant takeover groups for safety concerns” and being “outnumbered.”

NEW JERSEY AGE-RESTRICTED MALL

And because teens in New Jersey are becoming out of control while inside Garden State Plaza Mall, anyone under 18 will have to be accompanied by a chaperone who is 21 or older on weekend nights.

“They’re being unruly, violating code of conduct, which can include running through the property in large groups, fighting and putting it on TikTok, basically disrupting business and making it uncomfortable for our everyday customers,” Wesley Rebisz, senior general manager at Garden State Plaza told NorthJersey.com

The new policy begins on April 28 and will be in effect after 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

“We’ve seen an increase in large crowds of teens, essentially juveniles. The teens aren’t just enjoying the property in shopping, dining, and entertainment,” Rebisz said.

This is not the first time FISM News has linked violent crime to cities with Democratic leadership. At the beginning of the year, eleven U.S. cities landed in the top 50 of Numbeo’s 2023 Crime Index which ranks the most dangerous cities in the world. All eleven are managed by Democratic mayors.
