Country music star Granger Smith is leaving behind his fame and platform to focus on ministry at his local church.
The musician announced this summer will be his last tour. Smith has played on stages for the majority of his life but now believes God is calling him to a new passion.
In 2019, his three-year-old son River tragically drowned. But this became a catalyst for Smith’s faith, who now feels like the spotlight is something he must surrender to better follow God.
Smith is working towards a Master’s degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He intends to use this next stage of his life to pour into ministry at his local church. With great humility, he says he wants to be coached by his pastors.
Smith’s memoir that talks about his faith journey also releases this summer. “Like a River” will hit shelves on August 1.
