House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) announced Monday that he subpoenaed and received the bank records of three former Hunter Biden business associates dating from Jan. 20, 2009, to the present.

The subpoenas are part of a broader investigation into the claim that various members of the Biden family, President Joe Biden, engaged in a scheme to peddle political influence to foreign entities for profit.

Comer obtained Bank of America records for Rob Walker and two other unnamed individuals tied to Hunter Biden. According to Comer, Walker’s records are cause for concern.

“We confirmed that [Walker’s] account, around two months after Joe Biden left [the] office of vice president, received a three million dollar wire from two individuals directly associated with the Chinese Communist Party,” Comer said during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

“The very next day, after that wire was received, the Walker account started transferring money into three different Biden family members’ accounts, including a new Biden family member, [who’s] never before been identified, as someone being involved in the influence-peddling scheme,” Comer continued.

Walker, Hunter Biden, President Biden’s brother, James Biden, Tony Bobulinksi, and James Gilliar worked together on a business venture, called Sinohawk Holdings, a project that was meant to partner with Chinese energy company, CEFC.

In a press conference held by Bobulinski, a military veteran and democrat donor, in October of 2020, Bobulinski claimed to have met with President Biden in 2017 to discuss the business affairs of the Biden family.

“On May 2, 2017, … I was introduced to Joe Biden by Jim Biden and Hunter Biden,” Bobulinski said.

“At my approximately hour-long meeting with Joe that night, we discussed … the Biden’s family business plans with the Chinese, with which he was plainly familiar, at least at a high level,” Bobulinski continued.

Bobulinski’s admission directly contradicts President Biden’s assertion that he maintains no involvement in his son’s business dealings.

An October 2022 press release from Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) details the Biden family’s involvement with the communist-linked CEFC.

“The arrangement Hunter Biden and James Biden created with foreign nationals connected to the communist Chinese government included assisting them with potential business deals and investments while Joe Biden was Vice President; however, that work remained intentionally uncompensated while Joe Biden was Vice President,” Grassley stated in the release.

“After Joe Biden left the Vice Presidency, … Hunter Biden and James Biden worked with CEFC and affiliated individuals to compensate them for … past work and the benefits they procured for CEFC,” Grassley continued, stating that “10% of Hunter Biden’s interest was to be held for Joe Biden.”

A statement from the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, states that “Chairman James Comer and Oversight Committee Republicans are investigating the Biden family’s domestic and international business dealings to determine whether these activities compromise U.S. national security and President Biden’s ability to lead with impartiality. Members of the Biden family have a pattern of peddling access to the highest levels of government to enrich themselves, often to the detriment of U.S. interests.”

Conservatives have accused President Biden of being too soft on China in regard to defending Taiwan, the recent Chinese spy balloon fiasco, the manufacturing needs of the U.S., and the government’s apparent lack of transparency on its knowledge of COVID’s origins.

In a Feb. 9 press release, Comer claimed the Oversight Committee’s investigation into the business affairs of the Biden family showed that “the Biden family business model is built on Joe Biden’s political career and connections.”

“Biden family members attempted to sell access around the world, including individuals who were connected to the Chinese Communist Party, to enrich themselves to the detriment of American interests,” Comer continued. “If President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are impacting his decision making, this is a threat to national security.”
