In a move that has enraged conservatives throughout the country, Hershey’s Chocolates ran a promotional ad for International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 1 that displayed and celebrated biological men identifying as women.
The Pennsylvania-based candy giant titled the ad “Her/She” as a play on words for both the LGBTQ-sanctioned identification for women and the name of the company.

The ad shows video footage of a biological man named Fae Johnstone, alongside several other individuals. Johnstone states in the clip,
We can create a world where everyone is able to live in public space as their honest and authentic selves. See the women changing how we see the future.
Conservatives were quick to point out the disturbing nature of a campaign that, on a day to celebrate women, is actually promoting men who pretend to be women.
On Thursday, conservative pundit Matt Walsh tweeted,
As you know, @Hersheys has made trans-identified male @FaeJohnstone one of the faces of its International Women’s Day campaign. But Johnstone, along with being a male, is also a vile, woman-hating extremist. This is the sort of person that Hershey’s has chosen to represent women.
On Friday, Walsh’s boss Jeremy Boreing, CEO of The Daily Wire, introduced a new chocolate candy called “Jeremy’s Chocolates,” where conservatives can purchase chocolate bars and not fear giving money to woke corporations such as Hershey’s.
Stop giving your money to woke chocolate companies that hate you.

Additionally, on Thursday and Friday, the hashtag “#Hershey’sHatesWomen” was trending widely on Twitter.
Author’s Biblical Analysis
Two years ago, I penned an opinion piece on the brewing war within leftist politics between “traditional” second/third-wave feminism and modern transgenderism. Both camps would fall under the umbrella of left-leaning policies, but they are at war with each other.
In that article, I argued that transgenderism is likely to win the day, sacrificing womanhood at the altar of gender identity. I stand by that argument two years later with even more confidence.
I believe Christians need to be aware of this, and we need to understand the sinister attack at play against women in the third decade of the 21st century.
Contrary to transgender advocates, Christians must uphold and celebrate true womanhood as a beautiful and unique creation of God. Though the Bible clearly teaches the distinction in roles between men and women, the Bible also clearly celebrates the equal value and sanctity of life that exists in both men and women.
Therefore, it is absolutely inexcusable and morally reprehensible to do what the LGBTQ activists are doing to erase traditional womanhood. They would balk at the notion that this is what they are doing, but it is true. This is a blatant definition of woman-hating, misogyny, and female prejudice.
Instead, Christians should celebrate womanhood, as we equally should for manhood. May we see the God-ordained differences found in men and women and celebrate them.
We must celebrate men of strength and conviction, who are “strong” and “brave,” who “stand fast in the faith” (1 Corinthians 16). Likewise, we must uphold women who embody the “gentleness and quiet spirit” of a woman of God, a woman “who fears the Lord” (1 Peter 3:4).
This is not to say that women cannot and should not also exhibit strength. Rather, it is to distinguish and celebrate the uniqueness between the strength of a woman and the strength of a man, and to show how the complementarity ultimately glorifies the Creator who made them “male and female” (Genesis 1:27).
Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates. – Proverbs 31:28-31
