Two of the most accomplished QBs in NFL history, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, are off to their worst combined start in the duo’s career.

Both Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers are 3-4 following disappointing losses by their teams on Sunday.

Brady had another subpar performance in Tampa’s 21-3 loss to the dismal Carolina Panthers, even as the Panthers played their first game after trading away star running back Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers for future draft picks.

Phillip Walker, who entered the season projected as low as 4th on the Panthers’ depth chart, found himself in the starting quarterback role Sunday as injuries have sidelined Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and Matt Corral. Walker was an efficient 16-of-22 for 177 yards and two touchdowns on the day, as his counterpart Brady struggled to find consistency.

Rodgers had similar struggles in Green Bay’s 23-21 loss to the lowly Washington Commanders.

“You have to play as a team. You have to take accountability. You have to work hard. You have to have discipline,” Brady said after the Buccaneers lost for the third time in four weeks. “Commitment. Mental and physical toughness. These are all character traits. We have a lot of great guys in the locker room. We’re going to go in [Monday] morning, we got a short week. We’ve got to work hard to try to fix it.”

The Buccaneers have a quick turnaround this week, as they host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.

The Packers have a tough, rested opponent coming up. They’ll visit the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

“I’m not worried about this squad. In fact, this might be the best thing for us,” Rodgers said. “This week, nobody’s going to give us a chance. Going to Buffalo on Sunday Night Football, a chance to get exposed. Shoot, it might be the best thing for us.”
