Boston Children’s Hospital continues its purge of video archives on the topic of transgender treatments and surgeries for minors. The latest deletion by the Harvard-affiliated pediatric center is a video posted on its YouTube channel in which a psychologist claims that “a good portion” of children she treats in the hospital’s Gender MultiSpecialty Service (GeMs) clinics are aware of their gender identity “from the womb.”
Dr. Kerry McGregor states that most kids “know their gender, usually around the age of puberty. But a good portion of children do know as early as seemingly — from the womb,” in the video first reported by the Daily Mail.
She goes on to state that kids “will usually express their gender identity as very young children, some as soon as they can talk,” adding, “kids know very, very early.”
“They may say phrases like ‘I’m a girl’ or ‘I’m a boy,'” she states in the clip captioned “Caring for young transgender kids.”
Boston Children’s GeMS clinic treats “gender-diverse children, teens, and young adults” with “gender-affirming care” that includes “physical and psychological assessment, ongoing medical care, and additional referrals as needed,” according to its website.
The hospital, which boasts the first pediatric center in the country dedicated to gender-affirming surgeries, has come under increased scrutiny in recent weeks over its promotion of transgender surgeries on minors. The hospital revised its website language promoting “gender-affirming hysterectomies” to patients as young as 17 after conservative Twitter account Libs of TikTok posted screenshots of the policy on Twitter. The modified language states, in bold letters, that the pediatric hospital only offers the surgeries to “patients who are 18 or older.”
Several other children’s hospitals in the country have also come under fire for providing transgender medical services to minors, including Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., which listed “gender-affirming medical care and gender-affirming hysterectomy” to “patients between the ages of 0-21,” according to internet archives, Fox News reported in August.
However, the website appeared to delete the reference after Libs of TikTok highlighted it.
FISM reported last week that pediatric hospitals and biomedical investors are cashing in on the alarming rise of gender dysphoria in America that has resulted in a growing demand for irreversible transgender medical interventions on children. The exploding industry is projected to soar to $5 billion over the next 10 years, according to a recent analysis published by Grand View Research.
