President Biden tried to make his case for the morality of transgenderism in an interview on Sunday, condemning state attempts to curb gender-affirming surgeries on minors and to require people to use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex rather than gender identity.
“What’s going on in some states … It’s outrageous, and I think it’s immoral. The trans part’s not immoral. What they’re trying to do to trans persons is immoral,” the president said.
Transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney, a biological male who identifies as female, asked the president for his views on a number of issues related to transgenderism as part of an interview by the progressive news outlet NowThis News’s Presidential Forum. The show featured a series of interviews addressing, according to host Alejandro Alba, “the most pressing issues facing young people today,” such as abortion, gun control, and transgenderism.
When Mulvaney asked if states should be able to ban gender-affirming care, the president said, “I don’t think any state or anybody should have the right to do that as a moral question, as a legal question. I just think it’s wrong.”

“I feel very, very strongly that you should have every single solitary right including, including use of your gender identity bathrooms, but public,” he later added.
The president also touted his son Beau’s accomplishments as Delaware’s attorney general in helping to pass legislation allowing all gender-affirming care in the state.
Mulvaney then lambasted Republicans for, he claims, turning transgender and non-binary people “into this thing to blame the downfall of society on,” threatening transgender people’s mental health and physical safety.
“People fear what they don’t know,” Biden answered in response. “People change their minds. People are just, don’t know enough to know. And it’s not because of intellectual capability, it’s just lack of exposure.”
Conservatives were quick to blast the president for embracing a far-left position on transgenderism. Libs of TikTok tweeted, “Just so we’re clear – the official Democratic party position now is that puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgery for kids is good.”
Daily Wire writer Ryan Saavedra quoted former attorney general Bill Barr, saying, “This is not decay; it is organized destruction. Secularists, and their allies among the ‘progressives,’ have marshaled all the force of mass media, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia in an unremitting assault on religion and traditional values.”

The Biden administration has repeatedly shown support for radical transgender ideology, including gender-affirming surgery and puberty blockers for minors. In March, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Affairs released a document titled, “Gender-Affirming Care and Young People.” The same day, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Child Traumatic Stress Network, also a part of the HHS, published, “Gender-Affirming Care Is Trauma-Informed Care.”
Mulvaney gained notoriety on TikTok for his public so-called transition from male to female earlier this year. His series “girlhood” documents his attempts to live as a woman. He began the interview by telling the president that it was his 221st day of publicly transitioning, to which Biden responded, “God love you!”
In an editorial for the Spectator World, editor Amber Athey slammed men like Mulvaney for “debas[ing] women to the lowest stereotypes”, writing, “Womanhood is now routinely publicly mocked and degraded by a group of men playing dress-up.”
