All is not well in the land of the Democrats following Vice President Kamala Harris’ declaration that the southern border was secure.
Tuesday, during an appearance on Fox News, moderate Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia told Fox News’s Bret Baier that he fervently disagreed with the vice president’s conclusion.
“It’s wrong. She’s dead wrong on that,” Manchin said. He later concluded, “for anybody — the vice president, president, anybody — to say our borders are secured, that is not accurate. I have been there. It’s wrong.”

During an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd that aired on Sept. 11, Harris had twice stated that the border was secure without any corroborating evidence to the claim.
“I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship,” Harris said. “The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.”
Todd, who is typically sympathetic to the left, replied, “We’re going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border’s secure?”
Harris answered, “We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration.”

These comments, as were first reported by Fox, earned Harris the anger of some border agents, who have complained of the lack of resources and personnel to deal with the thousands of immigrants flooding the border on a daily basis.
The Biden administration has been trying to place its spin on the situation at the border, largely ignoring the fact that the U.S. has seen record levels of migrant deaths, drugs, and terrorists under Biden’s leadership.
Earlier this week, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that the Biden administration is much more effective in its handling of the border than former President Donald Trump.
