Friday, Republicans in the House of Representatives confirmed the expectations of media and political pundits the nation over when the GOP made its plan for the United States official.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was the point man but congressional Republicans ranging from the well known to effectively anonymous, as well as the social media accounts of most GOP committees, launched a social and traditional media blitz in favor of the party’s Commitment to America plan.

“House Republicans want a government that’s accountable,” McCarthy tweeted. “This is our Commitment to America.”

As previously reported on FISM, the Republicans’ commitment has been well known since early September and falls generally among four categories: the economy, national security, liberty, and accountability.

“House Republicans are committed to delivering an economy that’s strong, a nation that’s safe, a future that’s built on freedom and a government that’s accountable for the American people,” a tweet on the House GOP account reads. “This is our #CommitmentToAmerica!”

McCarthy, who appeared at a sheet metal plant in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, which is near Pittsburgh, promised that, if Republicans retake the House, their first act would be seeking to repeal Biden’s $80 billion earmark for the IRS.

Additionally, McCrthy said, Republicans would attempt to pass a parental Bill of Rights, a law that would guarantee parental influence over curricula in the nation’s classrooms, and launch a congressional select committee to investigate China.

McCarthy later appeared on Fox news to discuss the plan in greater detail, but the general talking points were the same across the party.

Republicans from Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise to Oklahoma Rep. Stephanie Bice took turns placing intense emphasis on inflation, energy costs, and border security.

“Great to be in Pittsburgh today with @GOPLeader and my Republican colleagues rolling out our Commitment to America,” Rep. Vern Buchana (R-Fla.) tweeted. “Since Biden took office, the average American has lost $4,200 in annual income. It’s time to get our country and our economy back on track.”

Contemporary Republicans’ Commitment to America was inspired by and meant to recall memories of former House Speaker Newt Gingrinch’s Contract with America.

Gingrich, appearing on Fox News, gave his seal of approval to the new plan, which he said would likely inspire even more success in the midterms than currently expected.

“I think this will be a much bigger Republican tsunami than people currently expect,” Gingrich said.

Republicans created the Commitment to America following a nationwide listening tour. McCarthy and his fellow GOP representatives synthesized the most common complaints they heard into the new plan.
