An 80-year-old woman attempting to speak publicly about a run-in she had with a biological male in the women’s locker room at her local YMCA was heckled and harassed by pro-transgender activists on Monday.

The 80-year-old woman who was banned from her local swimming pool for raising concerns about a male in the female washroom was heckled as she gave a speech tonight.

Julie Jaman, a longtime member of the Olympic Peninsula YMCA in Port Townsend, Washington, was banned from the organization’s pool after demanding a biological male leave the women’s locker room.

Jaman had been swimming at the YMCA, and as was her custom, entered the women’s locker room to change out of her bathing suit when she was finished. While there, she heard a man’s voice inside the locker room and became distressed.

Jaman was recently interviewed by Dori Monson on Kiro NewsRadio in Seattle and said,

I saw a man in a woman’s bathing suit watching maybe four or five little girls pulling down their suits in order to use the toilet. I asked if he had a penis and he said it was none of my business. I told that man to ‘get out right now.’

The voice belonged to Clementine Adams, an employee at the YMCA who is a biological male and identifies as a female. Prior to the incident, in February of last year, Adams started a GoFundMe to raise money for “gender-affirming surgeries.” According to that page, Adams is a college student majoring in elementary education, and he has raised more than $14,000 at the time of this writing.

Jaman had what the police report called “an emotional response to a strange male being in the bathroom near young girls.” The police at the scene described Jaman’s reaction as “screaming at an employee” and “refusing to leave” the YMCA.

Amy Sousa is the founding member of RevFoxxUSA and the organizer of the speaking event for Jaman. Sousa told Fox News that “all kinds of men were assaulting us and crawling between our legs. They continued to move in on us closer and closer until we were pinned against the wall. They were touching us and stealing our things, trying to turn off our sound, trying to disrupt our equipment.”

Shortly after beginning her speech, protesters began chanting “trans women are women” and “trans rights are human rights.” The heckling and chants took a turn when protesters began to approach Jaman and others near the microphone. One heckler tore down banners, and Sousa and Jaman were visibly nervous about what was going on around them.

“Are we going to get beaten up here?” Jaman asked.

She then asked for her supporters in the crowd to call 911 and asked for the police to help.

Erin Hawkins, the communications manager for the YMCA, told Fox News that, “the permanent pool ban followed a build-up of incidents where Jaman violated the facility’s code of conduct.” She said the permanent suspension was not solely due to the singular incident in the women’s locker room last month.

Jaman asked for warning signs stating that biological males could possibly be in the women’s locker room. Jaman said,

There were no signs posted to give women warning, I was told there were Pride posters posted all over and that it was assumed that was adequate to inform women what to expect. That’s fine with me, except that they do not provide alternatives for women who choose not to be undressing in front of men. Our pool is a very old pool. We just have two shower rooms, dressing rooms, one for men, one for women.

Jaman’s request is simple and straightforward: “I don’t want to be forced to the shower and dress with the opposite sex present.”
