A Connecticut assistant principal is being investigated after allegedly admitting on camera that he won’t hire Catholics, older teachers, or “hardcore conservatives” who oppose transgender ideology.
Greenwich Public Schools announced on Wednesday that they are launching a “full investigation” into Cos Cob Elementary School Assistant Principal Jeremy Boland after Project Veritas released a video purporting to show Boland admitting to discriminatory hiring practices and transgender indoctrination to an undercover Project Veritas reporter.
“Late last evening, we were made aware of a video that had gone viral with a current administrator from Cos Cob School,” Dr. Toni Jones, Superintendent of Schools, wrote in an email obtained by The Post Millennial.
We intend to do a full investigation and until that time, we will not make any public statements. We ask that you respect the investigation process during this time. We do not, however, support any opinions that promote discriminatory hiring practices based on race, religion, gender, or age in any way, and we want to remind our entire community that our curriculum policies and procedures are strictly enforced by our board.
Project Veritas dropped the shocking video late Tuesday. In the recording, Boland explains his hiring process to the journalist.
“I’m not allowed to ask their political leanings and they’re not allowed to ask me. So it just comes down to the questions,” Boland said. “One of the questions that I might start including is something about transgender students, students that are — identify — what is it, non-binary?”

Boland proceeded to provide an example of a response to the question that would automatically disqualify a potential hire.
“Well, I don’t think kids have enough knowledge to make that decision for themself,” he said before snapping his fingers and declaring, “You’re out, you’re done.”
Boland also said he only wants to hire “younger” teachers, adding, “but if they’re older, I’m not allowed to do that. I can’t tell them, ‘I’m not interviewing you because you’re older.’ I just don’t interview them.”
“Sometimes the older you get, the more set in your ways, the more conservative you get,” Boland went on to explain. “The conservative [teacher], who is stuck in her ways. I’ll never be able to fire her, and I’ll never be able to change her. So I make an impact with the next teacher I hire,” he bragged.
On the subject of religion, Boland asserted that “If someone is raised hardcore Catholic, it’s like, they’re brainwashed — you can never change their mindset.” He added that if he discovers that an applicant is Catholic “you don’t hire them.”
At one point, Boland revealed that one of his objectives in considering new hires is their ability to promote the “Democratic message.”
“Believe it or not, the open-minded, more progressive teachers are actually more savvy about delivering a Democratic message without really ever having to mention politics,” Boland said.
“So, it’s subtle. They [teachers I hire] will never say, ‘Oh, this is [a] liberal or a Democratic way of doing this.’ They’ll just make that the norm — and this is how we handle things, it’s subtle…That’s how you get away with it,” he continued.
According to Connecticut Law section 46A-60B1, it is illegal for employers “to refuse to hire or employ or to bar or to discharge from employment any individual or to discriminate against such individual in compensation or in terms, conditions or privileges of employment because of the individual’s race, color, religious creed, age, sex, gender identity or expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, present or past history of mental disability, intellectual disability, learning disability, physical disability, including, but not limited to, blindness or status as a veteran.”
Update: Greenwich Public Schools said that Bolan was “immediately” placed on administrative leave following the video’s release in response to a FISM inquiry.
“Once again, we do not support any opinions that promote discriminatory hiring practices based on race, religion, gender, or age in any way, and we want to remind our entire community that our curriculum policies and procedures are strictly enforced by our Board,” the statement read.
