Last summer, FISM News reported that Carl Nassib, NFL free agent defensive lineman who was just released by the Las Vegas Raiders, announced he is gay on social media. The announcement was universally praised and supported by the sports world and liberal media.

On Tuesday, Nassib went on ABC’s “Good Morning America” with former NFL lineman-turned-host Michael Strahan. Nassib explained his reasoning for why he chose to come out as gay, saying it was to pave the way for children to do the same.

“The last thing I said was like, ‘You know what — for the kids.’ And pressed post,” Nassib told Strahan. “I just wanted to show that it really doesn’t matter — your sexual orientation. We are making strides in a positive direction,” he said. “It won’t be a perfect road, and we just have to continue the course and make sure that we do it from a place of love and not from a place of animosity.”

Nassib further reiterated how supportive the NFL community, as well as his fellow Raiders teammates, responded to his announcement.

While proponents of the LGBTQ agenda are celebrating this whole exchange, many others are quick to point out the hypocrisy in the narrative that Nassib was “courageous” in coming out when the entirety of the liberal media and sports sphere would not dare to even question his decision, let alone criticize him for it.

On the gridiron, Nassib’s future is uncertain. He is entering his seventh season, with no team having yet signed him as the 2022 NFL preseason is less than a month away.

He had been a role player at best for the Raiders before being released on March 17, starting only five games in two years. At 29, he is approaching the age where the production value of typical defensive linemen tends to drop off from years of constant collision with offensive linemen and running backs.

He stated on Good Morning America that he still wants to play, saying he still feels like he has “got a lot in the tank.”
