Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is continuing to rail against pro-life pregnancy centers, accusing them of fooling “people who are looking for pregnancy termination help,” while calling for them to shut down “all around the country.”
Warren made the comment to NBC 10 Boston last week while noting the prominence of crisis pregnancy centers in her home state.
“In Massachusetts right now, those crisis pregnancy centers that are there to fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help outnumber true abortion clinics by three to one,” she said.
“We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts, and we need to shut them down all around the country,” Warren continued, adding “You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that.”

FISM News previously reported that Warren along with Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) recently introduced a bill that would criminalize what they call “disinformation” promoted by crisis pregnancy centers by authorizing the Federal Trade Commission to prosecute them.
The Stop Anti-Abortion Disinformation Act would punish these pregnancy centers with civil penalties up to $100,000 or 50% of the organization’s total revenue from the past 12 months.
Warren’s comments come amidst a string of domestic terrorist attacks against crisis pregnancy centers following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Warren’s claims that crisis pregnancy centers are seeking to “fool people” is false. Crisis pregnancy centers advertise themselves as places that women can go to get counseling and information about the life that they are carrying and are up front that they hold unborn children to be humans worthy of protection. As Pre-Born, a ministry that supports crisis pregnancy centers, says on their website, these facilities “provide resources, equipment, and training and to encourage mothers to choose life.”
As previously reported by FISM News, crisis pregnancy centers will have likely saved upwards of 1 million children from being aborted by the end of this year. Additionally, a Charlotte Lozier 2020 report found that “roughly two million women, men, and youth” were provided “services estimated at a value of over $266 million.”
