Fans of golf are overjoyed to hear that beloved superstar Tiger Woods has recovered from his injuries in a horrific car accident in February of this year. Fans wondered at the time if Tiger would ever swing a golf club again after severely injuring his right leg.

The second leading major champion of all time will be joining his 12-year-old son Charlie in the PNC Championship at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando on Dec. 18. Woods made the announcement via Twitter on Wednesday:

The PNC Championship is a 36-hole doubles tournament exclusively for winners of major championships and their family members. Some of the other big-name golfers in the circuit will be Lee Trevino and Justin Thomas.

Alastair, executive chairman of the PNC, said,

We have been liaising with Tiger and his team for some time and are delighted that he has now decided to make his return to competitive golf at the PNC Championship.

The familial nature of this event will be a good on-ramp for Tiger to get back into competitive golf, and it will no doubt be a special moment for him as he returns to the game he loves with his son.
