In a horrific development that broke from Florida on Tuesday, former NFL running back Otis Anderson Jr. was killed in an alleged domestic dispute on Monday night. He was only 23 years old.
According to reports, the killer is Anderson’s father, 53-year-old Otis Anderson Sr. The elder Anderson had been reportedly bitten by a dog belong to his son’s girlfriend, inciting an intense argument which ended with him shooting and killing both his son and his wife Denise in the family’s home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Otis Anderson Sr. was arrested soon after the incident and faces two charges of second-degree murder.
Anderson Jr. had a productive career in college, playing for the University of Central Florida Knights for four years. He scored 26 touchdowns and amassed more 3,200 yards from scrimmage. UCF paid tribute to their former running back on Twitter:

Anderson’s coach at UCF, Josh Heupel, said of the late running back,
Tough and gritty, fun and full of laughter, he made such a positive impact on our university, community, and our locker room. He was an unbelievable teammate.
Anderson also had a brief stint in the NFL as a member of the LA Rams’ practice squad. He was released by the team in September of 2021.
He starred in high school at University Christian High School in Jacksonville before graduating in 2017. University Christian Head of School Heath Nivens said,
(Otis) brought light to the campus. He always had a smile. He was a great student on and off the field.
