Florida Governor Ron DeSantis railed against President Joe Biden’s open border policies during a Wednesday press conference, quipping that he may begin bussing illegal immigrants from Florida to the President’s home state of Delaware.

Responding to a question concerning the federal government’s policy of flying illegal immigrants from the southern border to Jacksonville, DeSantis said “These are done mostly in the middle of the night. And it’s clandestine. And we really have no say into it.”

The Florida governor told the reporter that the state is suing the Biden administration over these flights, and indicated that he is considering punishing contractors who are flying and bussing illegal immigrants into the state.

We should be able to have consequences for those contractors and your ability to do business in Florida I think should absolutely be curtailed based on whether or not you’re bringing problems or not bringing problems,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis went on to say that since the Biden administration sends illegal immigrants to his state without permission, he’d like to resettle them in Delaware:

My view would be, why don’t we, if they’re going to come here, you know, we’ll provide buses. … I will send them to Delaware and do that. I mean, if he’s not going to support the border being secured, then he should be able to have everyone there. So, we will do whatever we can in that regard. And we are absolutely going to do everything we can.”

During the press conference DeSantis also ripped Biden for his plans to pay reparations to illegal immigrants separated under the Trump administration, saying:

You as an American, you get higher gas prices, you get higher grocery bills, you get told basically, to just grin and bear it, someone breaks the law, comes illegally, and they’re going to cut him a check for hundreds of thousands of dollars. That is just unbelievable. But that’s what we’re dealing with.

DeSantis’s ire towards Biden’s lax border policies coincides with a report yesterday that an illegal immigrant murdered a father of four in Jacksonville last month.  The murderer, who just turned 24, entered the country by pretending to be an unaccompanied minor.

It is unknown if the Biden administration helped the killer travel to Florida.
