This man played Major League Baseball for almost 2 decades, from 1966-1984. He was at best an average player, but he made a serious impact. He is most remembered for a great act of patriotism and heroism that took place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in April of 1976. The man we will explore is Rick Monday, outfielder for the Chicago Cubs. On April 25, 1976, in a game between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers, Monday made one of the most heroic plays in sports history.
