Just one month after retiring, President Joe Biden’s first Border Patrol Chief, Rodney S. Scott, wrote a strong letter to Senate leaders, warning that the “U.S. Border Patrol is rapidly losing the situational awareness required to know who and what is entering our Homeland.” The 29-year law enforcement officer chose to retire after being given a directed reassignment letter by the Biden administration earlier in the summer.

In Scott’s letter to the senators, obtained by Just the News, the Trump appointed border patrol chief said that Biden’s inauguration brought with it an “unprecedented seismic shift in border security and immigration policy,” that “created the current border crisis.”

Scott said that under Biden “common sense border security recommendations from experienced career professionals are being ignored and stymied by inexperienced political appointees.”

He continued, saying that “the Biden administration’s team at DHS is laser-focused on expediting the flow of migrants into the U.S. and downplaying the significant vulnerability this creates for terrorists, narcotics smugglers, human traffickers, and even hostile nations to gain access to our homeland.”

Furthermore Scott told the senators that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas along with others in the department “have provided factually incorrect information to Congressional Representatives and to the American public.”

Scott concluded his letter to Senators Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, Gary Peters, and Rob Portmann, with a request that they exercise their “oversight responsibility and convene hearings to ensure that Congress and the American people have access to the truth.”
