The Fourth of July is just around the corner and many Americans are gearing up for patriotic celebrations and parties. However, due to a nationwide shortage in fireworks, some Independence Day celebrations may have to be quieter and less bright than in the past. This represents the second annual shortage of fireworks after many Americans bought hundreds of them last year in order to have their own private displays due to the pandemic restrictions.
Phantom Fireworks is the largest producer of fireworks in the United States and are based in Ohio. Their Vice President, Alan Zoldan, released a statement addressing the shortages,
Like many other industries, the fireworks industry has also experienced delays due to shipment challenges facing the global market. The good news is that we prepared early in anticipation of high demand again this year, and are encouraging Phantom customers to do the same. We are always excited to be a big part of America’s favorite holiday – the Fourth of July, especially meaningful following the 2020 pandemic summer.
Phantom Fireworks President, Bruce J. Zoldan, echoed these comments and expressed hope an joy for fireworks season and the Fourth of July post-pandemic,
Unlike last summer, we’re hopeful that most families can celebrate this Fourth of July season together. Phantom Fireworks stands ready to help Americans turn the page this year – to enjoy our nation’s favorite summer holiday in their individual communities safely with Phantom Fireworks products – and with a promising future for the year ahead.
Americans across the country are thrilled to be able to celebrate America’s Independence Day without the restrictions that were in place a year ago, and firework retailers don’t want to put a damper on celebrations by not being able to provide the “exclamation point” that revelers look forward to. For this reason, stores across the country are urging people to buy early as their supply could runout due to shipment and supply chain concerns.
Most major celebrations, however, should not be affected as they are expected to pull out all the stops this year in order to re-capture the magic of fireworks on the Fourth. Washington DC’s show on the National Mall, the Macy’s fireworks show in New York City, and Walt Disney World’s magical show in Orlando are some of the bigger displays that are scheduled around the country.
