Following Andrew Cuomo’s formal resignation from his office as governor of New York, the New York State Assembly will finish the investigation that they began in March of this year. The NY Assembly had began the impeachment process as well but abandoned it once Cuomo announced his resignation. The Assembly will also release a final report summarizing their findings in their investigation which will stand along side the separate investigation and report from the New York Attorney General’s office.

The Department of Justice led by Attorney General Merrick Garland has dropped a lawsuit the government was prosecuting on behalf of a nurse against the hospital at which she had worked. The nurse initially sued her hospital because it forced her to assist in the medical procedure for an elective abortion after she had initially refused. Garland was joined by Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra in instructing the DOJ to drop the case.
