Four Republican Senators are sounding the same alarm and asking for stronger border protection.
On Tuesday, Senators John Barrasso (Wyo.), John Cornyn (Texas), Ted Cruz (Texas), and Pete Ricketts (Neb.) spoke at a press conference after returning from a multi-day trip to the border. Barrasso, who is the Senate Republican Conference chairman, said the state of the border is conducive to “an increased threat for a terrorist attack.”
The senators are calling for stricter policies and more focused attention on the border crisis. The White House contends that it is trying its best to contain the crisis through supplemental funding requests to Congress.
But even National Security Advisor John Kirby couldn’t answer if there already was a bad actor in the United States.
