Several years after Jesus Christ was born, history tells us of an epic battle between the Romans and a conglomeration of Germanic Tribes. Romans and northern European tribes would be at each other’s throats for the next 500 years, and almost every time, the Romans, with their superior manpower and technology, would crush the Germans. But not this time. In 9 AD, the Germanic tribes would stop Roman expansion into northern Europe in what historians call one of the most devastating defeats in Roman history – the Battle of Teutoburg Forest.
