Loudon County schools are in the headlines again after students walked out of class yesterday in a protest against a school policy allowing biological males into girl’s locker rooms and restrooms.
The students stood in solidarity, sang the national anthem, and held signs that read “Overturn Policy 8040.”
Back in 2021, this policy led to a biological male assaulting a female student in a girl’s bathroom. The policy also keeps a student’s gender identity a secret from their parents and allows boys to compete in female sports.
Now the students are saying no more. And their parents are voicing their opinions as well. Parents are now calling for the resignation of Loudon County Superintendent Scott Ziegler, who allegedly played a key role in covering up the 2021 assault.
