A top Iranian official is admitting for the first time the regime is responsible for the tragic mass murder of Americans 30 years ago.
The admission comes from Sayyed Issa Tabatabai, who serves as the current Iranian supreme leader’s representative in Lebanon and previously served under the leader Ruhollah Khomeini.
In a bombshell admission, Tabatabai claims he organized the 1982 bombings that killed over 300 people. One bomb exploded in the U.S. embassy in Beirut while two suicide bombers also blew up American and French barracks in Lebanon.
His comments were translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute before they were scrubbed by Iranian state media, as Iran has never publicly admitted to the attack.
