Christian leaders are asking if the recent attack on Israel is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.

Pastor Greg Laurie wrote an article for the Washington Times that addresses that question head-on. In the piece, Laurie reminds us that the Bible specifics that “Israel would be scattered and regathered,” and then attacked from the north.

Laurie points to the Holocaust as the scattering, and then Israel’s formal recognition as a nation in 1948 as the regathering. Now, he’s positing the possibility that this attack from Hamas could lead to a greater enemy from the north, that being the partnership of Russia and Iran.

He says we can’t know this for certain, but advises all students of the Bible to keep their eyes open to the possibility that prophecy is playing out right before our eyes.
