Israeli archeologists have excavated four exceptionally well-preserved Roman-era swords near the Dead Sea.

Eli Escusido, director of the Israel Antiquities Authority, said the swords were a “unique time capsule,” and that they were as “sharp as if they had only just been hidden away today.” The archeological team unearthed the Jewish rebellion-era swords from a crevice of a desert cave.

The same group also found a mysterious structure that dates to the First Temple era. The 2,800 year-old channel was likely connected to the Palace or the Temple, and a description of it can be found in 2 Kings.

The Antiquity Authority said that the structure is an uncommon find in Israel.
