More than 70,000 climate activists have flocked to the Big Apple to cause chaos with their protests and demonstrations.

Climate Week NYC is an annual event hosted by Climate Group, a nonprofit pushing climate action worldwide. This week, the protestors braved the rain and stormed Wall Street to renew their calls for ending fossil fuel funding.

They chose that location because, as one protestor put it, they want to “make sure people know big banks are responsible for climate change too.” Monday, protestors blockaded the Federal Reserve Bank by linking arms and chanting. More than 100 people were arrested.

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even made an appearance, encouraging the protestors to be “too radical to ignore.”

The climate protests coincide with the United Nations General Assembly taking place in New York City, where global action against climate change will feature heavily in discussions.
