It’s now been nearly a month since Maui was ravaged by wildfires that killed more than 100 people. Now, Hawaiian authorities say the death toll is at 115, where it’s sat for nearly two weeks. The island police say only 58 of those victims have been identified.

But there is some good news. Authorities say the wildfires are now mostly contained and pose no active threat to other communities.

Samaritan’s Purse, the well-known Evangelical humanitarian organization, sent a plane of supplies on Friday with plans to build a volunteer camp on the island. CEO Edward Graham says responding to the disaster zone has been a challenge, but he believes volunteers will begin sifting through the destruction soon.

Graham also praised surviving churches for boldly loving their communities during this time.
