The Labor Department is now investigating meat companies, Tyson Foods and Perdue Farms, on suspicion of violating child labor laws.
The investigation is being launched in light of a New York Times report showing migrant children working overnight to clean company slaughterhouses.
Sadly, this is far more common than you’d hope. Earlier this year, HHS whistleblower Tara Lee Rodas shared with Congress how migrant children are being abused in order to pay off their debts to the cartels.
This past April, the Biden administration sent a letter to meat companies, including Tyson and Perdue, asking them to examine their supply chains for evidence of child labor.
