It’s certain Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ debate rivals will hammer him over controversial remarks he made this past weekend.

Speaking to The Florida Standard’s Will Witt, DeSantis accused segments of the Republican Party of blindly following Donald Trump, saying the party can’t be made up of “listless vessels.”

Team Trump accused the Florida governor of smearing MAGA voters with his comment, comparing it to Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” remark in 2016.

DeSantis Press Secretary Bryan Griffin fired back, saying the governor was referring to “Donald Trump and some congressional endorsers.”
