Church leaders are asking the Israeli government to take on anti-Christian violence.

In the past several months, Jewish extremists have been carrying out a growing number of attacks on Christians in the Holy Land, prompting Christian leaders to call for help from the government.

But until recently, these requests have been largely ignored. It wasn’t until President Isaac Herzog decided to visit a Catholic holy site, almost destroyed by extremists, that things started to change.

Herzog said that he views the situation seriously and that these attacks are unacceptable. But not all locals are hopeful about much change or that these terrorists will be held accountable.
