Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is in hot water after a Republican-led panel recommended that he be impeached.

Five state representatives voted unanimously to file a resolution against Paxton. Panel chairman Andre Murr distributed the charges to Texas House members yesterday.

Charges include breaking state laws, misusing official information, abusing official capacity, and retaliating against whistleblowers.

The Attorney General claims the accusations are baseless and politically motivated. He said quote: “They want nothing more than to sabotage our legal challenges to Biden’s extremist agenda by taking me out.”

A spokesman for his office added that the investigation itself is illegal under Texas law since it contains actions predating his last election.

The Texas House may vote as soon as tomorrow on whether they will impeach Paxton.
