A disturbing new United Nations report might put children at risk of abuse.
Three different U.N. departments called for big changes to criminal laws in a report released on International Women’s Day last month. The Human Rights High Commissioner said that many laws around the world are being used to ‘exert control over individuals’ and should be decriminalized.
Most targeted laws involving drug use, homelessness, and gender identity. But the report also advocates that sex between children and adults should not be prosecuted if it was done consensually.
The document says, “The enforcement of criminal law should reflect the rights and capacity of persons under 18 years of age to make decisions about engaging in consensual sexual conduct.”
Live Action President Lila Rose called out the report on Instagram as normalizing child abuse.
