After three long years President Biden signed a GOP-led resolution yesterday which officially ended the national COVID-19 emergency.
The White House and Congressional democrats had opposed the measure for the most part. The House saw almost 200 Democrats vote against it, while the Senate saw it pass in a rare 68-23 vote.
Despite the opposition to the measure, the White House never indicated it would veto the measure.
The White House previously wanted to end the emergency on May 11, saying an early end would cause chaos in the healthcare system.
However, according to the Hill, experts are saying that the end to the emergency now will have a “limited impact.”
