The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said on Wednesday it has sued Amazon.com Inc to force the retailer to recall hundreds of thousands of hazardous products that it had distributed on its platform. By a 3-1 vote, the CPSC voted to file an administrative complaint saying the Seattle-based e-commerce giant was legally responsible to recall the products as they posed a serious risk of injury or death to consumers.

Los Angeles County will reimpose its mask mandate this weekend in the latest sign that public health officials are struggling with an alarming rise in coronavirus cases tied to the highly contagious Delta variant. The county, home to 10 million people and the nation’s second-largest city, Los Angeles, is one of several jurisdictions to recommend or mandate wearing masks or other pandemic restrictions in recent days as cases rise to worrisome levels in many parts of the United States.

After days of heavy rainfall flash floods are sweeping through river land throughout western Germany and Belgium. Thus far over 125 people have died due to the flooding and hundreds more are either injured or still missing. Local and national governments have deployed as many rescue workers as possible to include the military but thus far efforts have been ineffective at controlling the natural disasters.

The highly controversial “For the People Act,” otherwise known as H.R. 1 which aims to completely redo U.S. voting with more federal government control and other means, found itself D.O.A. in the Senate thanks to aggressive opposition from GOP lawmakers. However, this hasn’t stopped the zealous attitude from left-leaning politicians to pass massive overhaul bills such as H.R. 1 through both houses of Congress.

Yellowstone National Park has experienced a swarm of more than 141 earthquakes with many occurring below Yellowstone Lake. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS) such swarms are common in the Yellowstone region. However, this many earthquakes is larger than average and is already being compared to the famous 2008-2009 swarm in Yellowstone where just over 800 earthquakes occurred including a larger earthquake at 4.1 magnitude.
